Newton children may have been at home as part of their new home school programme, but for VE Day 75 they went all out Old School in their celebrations. Acres of bunting and enough paper hats for a paper day at Royal Ascot were made by Lower School children, while Upper School pupils climbed up to their home pulpits and declaimed in the style of Winston Churchill about the challenges facing us with coronavirus... a case of old meeting new!
Meanwhile, Mrs Fleming posted a special VE Day Assembly, during which she shared some personal wartime recollections from her own mother as well as exploring what it meant to live under rationing. You can see that whole Assembly below.
