After a delicious supper served in the Dining Room, with each table hosted by Newton teachers and members of SLT, senior representatives from 71 schools were then kept busy touting their wares all evening to dozens of Newton families attending the Senior Schools' Fair. Most of our Year 8s were on hand to greet the visitors and help them set up their stands. Feedback from both senior schools and parents attending was testament to the success of this extraordinary continuing addition to our Senior Schools' Transfer Programme.
Some excerpts from senior schools' thank-yous afterwards:
There was such a friendly yet purposeful vibe, full of your lovely families and pupils asking really interesting questions; we came away excited once again about the pupils who may join us from Newton. All in all the evening was a great success and huge thanks from us. - Alleyn's
It was the best-organised, best-attended and most enjoyable Prep fair I've been to (and I've done a lot!). - Caterham School
Thank you so much for the event last week, it was a roaring success. I liked the goodie bags! - Emanuel School
Thank you for hosting such a great event. We saw quite a few very interested families and it was also a bonus to be wined and dined! - Brighton College
It was a great evening: well organised, lovely, well-informed parents and good to see everyone again. Thank you for having us - we loved it. - Wycombe Abbey
Some excerpts from parents' emails afterwards:
I just wanted to thank you for the fair last night. We felt very lucky to have that opportunity to meet so many schools at one time. - parent of Year 5 child
The senior schools' fair was great, and no doubt a herculean effort to assemble so many schools. - parent of Year 6 & 7 children
We were blown away by all the schools attending and have certainly had our heads turned by weekly boarding options. My head is spinning - but in a good way! - parent of Year 5 & 7 children
It was also terrific to welcome back ex-Newton Classics teacher, Mr Addis, who is now Head of Classics at Uppingham!
