Newton Prep is a prep school in the fullest sense of that word. Our youngest children can come into our Nursery and our oldest stay until Year 8 (age 13). So, what could the top two years of prep school life offer your children?
Firstly, we have outstanding facilities that rival many senior schools. Our pupils use our science labs, IT rooms, the auditorium, the recital hall, the sports halls and the large all weather pitch. Secondly, the pitch and pace of our curriculum is ambitious: our aim is for our pupils to be well prepared for their transition to senior school. Class sizes are deliberately small (typically, 12-18 pupils) so that teachers can adapt their teaching to the particular needs of our senior pupils. We have excellent links with a wide range of London day schools and boarding schools: we guide and support parents as they choose the ‘right’ senior school for their children.
We have our own Newton Diploma which embraces the humanities subjects and encourages children’s sense of enquiry and curiosity. Then, in terms of their social development, our Year 8 pupils all have positions of responsibility whether as School Captain, House Captain, Lower School prefects, computing prefects or Chair of Pupil Parliament, enabling them to develop their leadership skills and confidence as they become the role models for younger children.
The two top years in their prep school allows pupils to develop and flourish as young people, supported by a talented and dedicated team of subject specialist teachers, lasting friendships are formed.
Please do come and visit us- you would be most welcome.
