As soon as your child becomes a pupil at Newton Prep, you become a member of the Newton Prep PTA and we are very pleased to welcome you into our vibrant, diverse, all faiths-and-none community.
Overall, the PTA has two key aims: to enhance your Newton experience by bringing together all of our Newton families and friends, right from the first moment their child starts at the school, and to raise money for the school's Bursary Fund. Please don't feel that if you are new to the school you shouldn't volunteer to get involved in any small way or even to be a Class Rep from the get-go. Our PTA is the opposite of the cliques that might exist in other schools: in fact, being a Class Rep is a great way to meet other parents in your child's year group and throughout the school - and it isn't too big a lift, with minimum duties, mainly sharing information given to you.
The PTA also organises second-hand uniform sales, usually once a term although with a few more volunteers we could manage more dates! These will be announced in Newton News, shared via the school's key dates calendar with all parents and reminders sent on ClassList.
Charity is at the core of the PTA: mostly for the Newton Bursary Fund, to which we make a significant contribution, but also for other charities including Macmillan Cancer Care, Love in a Box and Plan International. If you have any charity you'd like to suggest supporting please don't hesitate to get in touch with your Class Rep.
Parents are very welcome to email the PTA Co-Chairs directly if they would like to get involved using [email protected] or can sign up using the Google form below.
