Our Year 6 boys yesterday gave the thumbs-up to playing football the old-fashioned way, as a community knockabout between close neighbours, when they took on the boys from St Mary's RC Primary over the road. "I like playing St Mary's," said one boy. "I like the fact they're never late!"
Play ranged well up and down the all-weather pitch, with each goal hard fought. The final score was 9-4 to Newton Prep. At the end, there was a exchange of handshakes and a brief chat from Mr Ferdinand.
