A new term is a time of high excitement at Newton Prep... who had the best holiday, who's grown the most, who read the most books. Then there's the stationery stand-offs about whose pencil case is the prettiest and whose bookbag is the brand-newest. Over 600 pupils, from the smallest new pips in the Apple nursery to the ever-taller saplings now beginning their final journey in Year 8, converged on Newton Prep this morning.
All were welcomed by head Alison Fleming and teachers, some of whom were new themselves. It was hard to know who was more raring to go: teachers or pupils!
