It's all systems go for the Upper School Sports Day (Years 5-8) on Wednesday 29th June.
For any parents that haven't enjoyed a Newton Prep Upper School Sports Day before, we are here to help, to guide and to hand around the iced hand-towels...
First things first... the Upper School Sports Day is NOT held here at Newton Prep but at the Millennium Sports Arena inside Battersea Park, clearly visible on the map below:
The Running Order of the Day:
Things to know about the structure of the day:
- Registration as normal. In the event of bad weather, a decision on whether to cancel will be made by 8.30am and followed up by a clarion call and a notice on this website
- Children in Years 5-8 to arrive at school in games kit in HOUSE games kit: house t-shirt, blue NP shorts, white ankle socks, trainers. Please ensure children also have sunblock, sun hat and plenty of bottled water
- Newton staff will escort children in year groups to the Millennium Arena; children then stay all day until dismissal after the presentation ceremony
- Sports Day starts 9.30am
- Break for lunch 12.00-1.00pm: children can have picnic lunch with their families
- Sports Day finishes c4.30pm with a presentation ceremony from 4.00-4.30pm
Dismissal procedure:
- Parent/carer MUST accompany child to form teacher and physically sign-out before leaving the arena
- If taking more than one child, adults will need to see each child's form teacher
- All form teachers will be available in the central grassed area within the track after the presentation ceremony
