Event Parents

Newton Prep are delighted to announce the line-up for their upcoming Newton Forum: A Question of Sport: Sustaining Sport Beyond Prep School on the evening of Wednesday 24th February. Kate Bosomworth, who serves on the Board of Sport England and was the creative lead for the This Girl Can campaign, will chair our panel of experts including Josh Lewsey MBE, world-cup winning rugby union player, who will reprise his support of Newton Prep after his Rugby Masterclass last year; Shelley Alexander, one of the BBC’s most senior women in sport, and Ashleigh Bell, the much-capped GB/England hockey player who won a Bronze Medal in 2012.

The format of the evening will be conversational, with audience participation from both parents and pupils, tackling some identified issues around sport, for example, the status of girls in sport (as exemplified by the This Girl Can campaign), how to balance sport with well-being in schools, and how to ensure unsporty boys’ sense of self-esteem within sport.

This Newton Forum: A Question of Sport follows in the footsteps of previous recent Forums, An Evening with Sir Alan Parker, a Science Forum with Johnny Ball, a History Forum with author historian Caroline Walton and An Evening in Conversation with Michael Gove.
